The tournament takes place on Saturday 14th June 2025 We are hoping the Moreton-in-Marsh Mixed Doubles Tennis Open Tournament will be an enjoyable day and everyone will get to play lots of tennis. In the morning round, some groups and matches will be on local private courts, so it is important to arrive early at Moreton in Marsh Tennis Club to check-in, get refreshments and begin play as quickly as possible. Please arrive at 8:45 am to check-in with one of our tournament volunteers.

Please wear non-marking tennis shoes and bring appropriate clothing in event of rain.

After completing round one, all players are to return to Moreton-in-Marsh Tennis Club for the BBQ lunch. The group leader will hand in the results so the afternoon groups and rounds can be prepared.

Some matches will take place on local private courts. Please park carefully at the locations where you are playing and respect the property of those who have kindly loaned their courts for the event. We will endeavour to confirm prior to tournament if you have been assigned to groups playing on remote courts and therefore will require transport. Please let us know if transport will be an issue prior to the event.

For rounds one, quarter finals and play offs, the cumulative score of each round played by a pair, irrespective of how many matches they won or lost, will be used to calculate promotion or elimination. If two pairs in the same group are tied, a championship tie break (e.g. 10-8) will be played to decide who is promoted.

Player level options at online registration are: 1 to 5, Beginner to Advanced For round one, there will be a number of groups, each having a mixed level of skills.

In the event of not all pairs or players turning up for round one, organisers will attempt to fill their place, and the matches continue in the original play order. If this cannot be achieved, the points available per match will be given to their opponents.

We will have a live scoreboard so that all players and spectators can get up-to-the-minute updates on the matches, making the competition even more exciting!

You can enter the tournament without a tennis partner and we will assign you one on the day, however we prefer if you can enter already with a partner as it helps balance the numbers entered. When purchasing tickets you can add each individual within the same checkout process.

Each pair will get a 10 minute warm-up for their first match of the round For all subsequent matches there will be up to 5 minutes to warm up, if required.

Each group will have a leader, a member from Moreton in Marsh Tennis Club, who will record scores and explain rules. Each group will be assigned a court to play on.

Round One: 09:00 – 13:00 All pairs will take part in the morning round and will play each other pair in their group. After all the matches are played, the top two pairs from each group, based on cumulative scores, will go through to the quarter finals of the main tournament. The third pair from each group will go through to a playoff round later in the afternoon. Any remaining pairs from each group will be knocked out of the tournament at this stage *Structure subject to change, dependent on the number of entries

There are toilets at the tennis club, disabled toilets at the cricket club. Please note that some of the private courts do not have toilets available to use.

Not all of the courts have seating so it may be useful to bring a picnic rug or chair.

Parking will be in the club car park and within the cricket club grounds. Parking will be signposted and we will have a parking attendant to help allocate a space, please see the site plan at the end of the guide.

Moreton-in-Marsh Tennis Club will have a water refill point. The private courts will not have a refill point so please bring your own filled water bottle.

If you are unable to play please try to provide a substitute. If you have opted in at the registration stage, your ticket payment will be converted to a donation to Moreton in Marsh Tennis Club, in the event of tournament cancellation. If a ticket is refunded the booking card processing fee will be deducted from the ticket price. Once instructed to process a refund it should take up to 7 days to appear on the card used to make payment.

The closing date for player ticket registration and payments is 01/06/25. If you have registered but not paid by this date, places will be allocated to players who have fully paid.

In order to host the payments system for the tournament, Wix payments charges a service fee on each transaction. For the purposes of helping with fundraising efforts and running the tournament this fee is charged in addition to the ticket price and will be viewable in the basket at checkout.

You play at your own risk and must take responsibility for your own safety and deciding on when to stop playing in the event of bad weather or if the court conditions become unsafe.
